I was recently asked this question:
"How can I stay on my exercise program even if I'm not seeing results right away?"
Here's my answer:
Seeing quick results is extremely important because, let's face it, nobody wants to try hard without getting any results. Our brain needs positive feedback in order to believe that the weight loss program you are following is actually "worth it".
If you exercise and eat right for a week - and then you see that you lost weight and fat, that would be great motivation for you to stay on your weight loss program. If you see no results, chances are you'll just stop the following plan.
You said that you may not be seeing results right away. By "results" I assume you mean losing weight. But remember that you may be gaining muscle and losing fat. So, although the scale doesn't change much, your body composition does. And ultimately, that's what the game is all about...
If you haven't measured how much fat you have before you start your weight loss program, the scale can be really misleading. Sometimes, just seeing how your clothes fit on you may be a much more accurate method of watching your progress...
Are you getting stronger and do you have more endurance every workout? If yes, then you are on track and you are already getting "results". Keep a "training log." Have a notepad with you and note down the exercises you do, how many reps you do, how much weight you lift etc. Every time you try to work out, look at the logs of your earlier workout. Can you do better this time? Can you lift some more weight or do a couple more reps? then you are moving forward...
How do you feel? Do you feel stronger? Do you have more energy? Do you feel "tighter" all over your body? These are also good signs that you are moving in the right direction...
Try to measure your weight AND fat percentage, say once a week. Do it in the morning on an empty stomach. You may see that you have lost just "a little" fat and you have gained just "a little" muscle. But Rome wasn't built in a day. The way you climb a mountain is one step at a time.
There's a lot to be said about consistency and there's strength in numbers. Small improvements add up over time with TREMENDOUS results. It's what the Japanese call "Kaizen"...
If you follow a weight loss program for "three days", not much will happen. But, if you follow this same program (or even one that is slightly less "perfect") for a long time - say 365 days, then you will literally not believe the results.

Easy Weight Loss Tip Melts Fat Like Butter!
No doubt, losing weight is the goal of many people in this day and age, more so today than ever before in our history. And the faster the better, if you please. And while you're at it, do you have an easy weight loss tip? Why, yes, I can honestly say I do.
I will tell you what it is if you only promise you will use it. Not just for today, but until you are able to step on the scale, or look in the mirror and feel good about what you see.
If you promise that much, I can give you an easy weight loss tip.
We live in the age of instant gratification. The E-factor many marketers call it: E for expedient. And I'm not sure how all of this started, lack of information, maybe. Lack of awareness, perhaps. So let's stop there. Awareness.
You want your easy weight loss tip? There it is, become more aware. Self-sabotage is the number one culprit that blocks would be diet successes and turns them into sure-fire failures. We don't pay attention, not enough anyway.
We derail our own efforts when we take our hands off the wheel of our lives, so to speak. The secret to your weight loss success is to pay more attention to things you do, say, and think. Yes, the things you think. Fears, frets, worries, something comes out of nowhere, a crisis of some kind, a distraction of some sort and suddenly, without notice, your new diet is in your life's rear view mirror.
Focus is awareness. Being conscientious of all surroundings is awareness. Devoting a short amount of time everyday, in complete silence, breeds further awareness. But here is the easy weight loss tip. Go out and get a pad from the store and buy a pen that feels comfortable in your hand.
Then every morning get up one half hour earlier than you presently do, and write in that pad. Write down your weight loss goals, and how you plan to achieve them. It doesn't matter if you do anything after your done writing. The only thing that matters is that you do the same thing everyday, without fail.
Write down your weight loss goals and how you plan to achieve them. Do it tomorrow. Do it the next day. Do it on weekends. Do it on holidays. Do not skip doing this one easy weight loss tip.
Because at some point, at some keen moment, at some secret time, not too far after you make a commitment to begin this process you will be compelled to take the very actions you've been writing about.
It doesn't get any easier than that.

Do You Need Any Pills in Order To Lose Weight?
Should you use weight loss pills when trying to lose weight? That's a good question indeed...
Here's my view on the subject:
Many people believe that taking a pill will solve all their weight loss problems. They buy the latest "miracle drug" or "miracle supplement" and they expect that to help them lose weight without lifting a finger.
This approach doesn't work. How many times have you taken such a pill and you lost weight and kept it off without eating properly or exercising?
What's that? Never? So I thought. I rest my case...
If you want to lose weight, the first things you need to get down are your nutrition and exercise program. AFTER you are drinking a lot of water, eating six balanced meals a day and exercising should you even consider anything additional as a means to complete your approach.
There's the 80/20 rule that says that 80% of your results will come from 20% of your efforts. And the rest 20% of your results will come from the other 80% of your efforts.
Many times, this rule is not really 80/20 - it can be 95/5.
What you need to be doing is focus on the "crucial few" rather than on the "trivial many". Supplements are the triavial many. Proper exercise and basic nutrition are the crucial few - so make sure you have these down first.
I have used several fat loss supplements in the past. Some of them worked, some didn't. Different ones will work for different people so I can't recommend any specific brand at this point. In any case, don't expect to "lose 40 pounds of fat in 2 short weeks" - I don't care what the advertisements in the fitness magazines say.
Buying and using a fat-loss supplement may help in another way that most people don't think of: When you think you have purchased the best fat loss supplement in the world, then you also tend to make better nutrition decisions and stick to your exercise program. You say "Ok, I have paid money for this product: I may as well pay attention to my nutrition and exercise program so that I get the most bang for my buck". Using a fat loss product can give you that much more assurance that you are "firing on all cylinders".
But again: This is the last thing you need to worry about. People were losing weight and looking great ages before the first fat loss supplement was even commercially available..

Weight Loss Tips For New Mothers
In fact, one of the most important things that you need to look into when trying to achieve weight loss after baby is your own personal diet. Unlike the fad diets of today, the very last thing that you need to do is to concentrate on one type of food group to the exclusion of all else.
You have only just given birth, not to mention the fact that you might be breastfeeding. The very last thing that you want is to lack a nutritious diet. On the contrary, you will need to keep your weight loss after baby to be one that is healthy not to mention practical.
The first thing that you need to ask yourself therefore, is how much of your time you are willing to sacrifice in looking after you figure, as well as everything else that you do. When you have reasoned this out satisfactorily for yourself, it is then a matter of deciding on a proper weight loss course for yourself.
Remember that it needs to be healthy and practical, so you might want to take the time to think over what exactly you want from such a course of action. How fast do you want to lose weight, and how much weight do you want to lose? Are you willing to go the extra distance and maybe even – horror of horrors – exercise?
Weight loss after baby won’t be easy, but it is doable with the right attitude and a positive outlook. When you have these two things, you will be all set to get your pre-pregnancy body back.
It will of course take time and it behooves your success of losing weight that you keep this in mind. This will make it easier for you to accept the gradual changes which are healthier for you than more rapid changes will be.
If you are looking to achieve a rapid weight loss after baby has passed the two to three month mark, thinking that it will be safer to do so then, not to mention easier, think again. Rapid weight loss at any time is not safe, unless you have thee right support structure to back you up. Stick with the slow and gradual weight loss and you will be the better for it.
